What other tips would you add? According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 40 million Americans suffer from an anxiety disorder. We have all been told that we need to manage stress better. But how? I am here to tell you that I am one of those people that was diagnosed as a teenager with general anxiety disorder. In addition, I am someone that is more genetically prone to stress and being in a “high strung” state. After going through a gauntlet of pharmaceutical drugs, I decided to take matters into my own hands. By working with a naturopathic and functional medicine practitioner, I was ultimately able to remove triggers of my anxiety by getting to a root cause level. Much of this involved food sensitivity testing, balancing nutrient deficiencies, removing toxicities, and healing my gut, all of which were instrumental in my healing process. That being said, these are natural ways that I have found to be effective in managing the stressors of life and driving myself into a more relaxed and rested state.
